Thomas Carroll was born in August 1979, to an English father and Japanese mother. He spent his early years in Saudi Arabia, where his father worked for an American Oil company. He grew up surrounded by bookworms and came to love reading himself. When he was not outside playing with his brother, he spent his time reading Asimov, CS Lewis, Tolkien, King, Herbert, and many others.
His family traveled between the UK and Saudi Arabia until finally settling in Warwick where he studied Biological Sciences at the University of Warwickshire and then returned for a Medical Degree. In 2005, he graduated from the Warwick Medical School and then worked in the NHS from Coventry to North London, before moving to the United States to complete his training in pulmonology and critical care. He finally settled in Orlando, Florida, where he currently lives and works.
He has a beautiful wife, two daughters and a guinea pig. Everything was wonderful until the pandemic arrived and he was lucky to survive twenty-eight hellish months under the shadow of Covid. It was a brutal time for everyone in healthcare, but it served as a reminder that life can be short, and so he fulfilled a lifelong dream to write. He dedicates his first books to his children who inspire him most of all, and he also promises to daydream less- but nobody believes him.
